We are seeking to recruit an experienced Support Worker to work on a 1 2 1 basis with a gentleman who has Autism and Learning disabilities on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The main focus of the role is to enable him to lead a fulfilling and varied personal life whilst maintaining and promoting his independence.
He has a variety of hobbies such as live music, bowling and eating out and has a keen interest in football and the successful applicant would be expected to support, facilitate and participate in these activities and as such the role would suit someone who has similar interests. He also takes daily walks and cycles which can be up to 1 or 2 hours in length and so suitable candidates would be able and willing to walk long distances on the occasions that they are asked to accompany him.
The Gentleman lives on his own in a semi-rural location around 6 miles outside Shrewsbury, he also likes to be driven to the surrounding villages for days out and shopping trips and therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
