This month, Joseph has been chatting with Alison Hirons, a Care Assistant working with our Stoke-On-Trent branch.
Alison has only been with us for 3 short months but has already made a lasting impression with us here at the Stoke-On-Trent Branch. When we think about what qualities we want our carers to have, Alison encompasses them all. She is genuinely passionate about care, consistently dedicated and absolutely lovely! We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Alison as part of the Cream family.
Joseph wanted to know why Alison chose to have a career in care and what she thinks about working for Cream Health Care.
What got you into care?
I’d previously cared for children and caring for adults and the elderly seemed to be the natural next step to take. I’ve got a naturally caring nature and improving someone’s life no matter how big or small is what I find so rewarding.
What’s it like to work for Cream?
Excellent! Can’t fault it, it’s been brilliant!
Do you feel like you are supported by the branch?
Definitely 100%
Do your hours suit you?
Yes, definitely. I get the nights that match my availability all the time. I just tell the office what nights I’m free and they get me booked in.
Do you have any specialities, passions or favourite care homes? Does Cream try to place you at care homes where they know you enjoy?
I’ve loved working at St Dominic’s since my first shift there. The staff gave me such a warm welcome and it continues to be a lovely place to work. I’ve done some nights at Shelton too which I have equally enjoyed.
