Nico Kudiqueba - Support Worker - Walsall

Thursday, November 8, 2018

This month, we’ve been chatting to Nico Kudiqueba, a Support Worker working with our Walsall branch.

Nico joined Cream Health Care in March 2018. Prior to joining Cream, Nico worked in a variety of care services including mental health, learning disability and elderly care. Nico is a very caring and conscientious carer and support worker, whom we have received excellent feedback for in all care services he has attended; so much so that he is currently completing a temp to perm position at a learning disability service we provide to, Selbourne House. Thankfully this is not the end of Cream Health Care for Nico as he enjoys working for us, he has decided to remain with us and take extra shifts.

Vicky wanted to find out how Nico started his career in care and what it’s like to work for Cream Health Care.

What got you into care?

I like being a carer. I’m a caring person. In this field of work there is a lot of responsibility and I find that both interesting, educational and rewarding. I enjoy helping and supporting people with various needs. It is important for me to know that I have given the best I can when I am caring for people, I’m not a carer for the money, but because I truly love my vocation.

How long have you been working for us?

I have been working for Cream since March 2018. I have worked at several services during this time. Cream have always tried to find me services that are as close to where I live as possible, and that match my skills and knowledge.

What’s it like to work for Cream Health Care?

It’s great to work for Cream Health Care. I have learned so much from the services I have worked at; the staff teams and the people that I have supported. It has been a very rewarding and wonderful experience and I hope it will continue for quite some time, as Cream are a great agency to work for.

Do you feel like you are supported by the branch?

Yes I feel supported by the branch. The branch are currently helping me on my temp to perm position with Selbourne House. Everyone in the branch are friendly and approachable.

Do your hours suit you?

Yes they suit me. I am able to take the shifts I want.

Do you have any specialities, passions or favourite care homes? Does Cream try to place you at care homes where they know you enjoy?

Well of course, Selbourne House, as I will soon be working there full time. I have enjoyed the experience of all services that I have worked at and I have found the staff teams really helpful and friendly.
