Dear the Cream Team
Wow! What a year!
Never in a million years could any of us have foreseen what 2020 had in store for us all. It has been exceptional and certainly will be a year none of us will ever forget. We pride ourselves on only recruiting the best care staff and you haven’t let us down this year. Your dedication, professionalism and commitment has shone brightly and I am so proud of all of you.
We’ve been back in the office since June and I love it. Everyone back at base missed the camaraderie and we felt it was only right for us to be working in the office, when you were working on the front line of this pandemic.
We know how difficult some shifts can be for you all. We are always on the other end of the phone, so if you’ve had a hard shift, call us.
Looking forward there is some positive data coming from several vaccines. I have personally taken part in the phase 3 Novavax vaccine trials and although the phase 3 results haven’t been announced, the data from phrase 1 and 2 is looking extremely successful and the government has already ordered 60 million of these doses.
The Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine got approved this week and hopefully several more vaccinations will be approved by the regulator over the coming weeks and a vaccination program can be rolled out quickly so that we can get back to some sense of normality by or just after Easter.
We will continue to work with the homes to ensure your safety and the safety of the service users and I look forward to working with you all under hopefully better circumstances in the near future.
Christmas will be very different this year and I know a lot of you will be working throughout but I hope you find time to look after yourself and to find joy and peace where you can.
Finally, I want to express my most heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you, the Cream Team! You have all set an extraordinary example of solidarity, hard work, compassion and flexibility.
You are simply the best and united, we will emerge from this crisis stronger because we are ‘all together better’!
Stay safe, stay strong;
