Dying Matters Awareness Week 2017

This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week – 8^th – 14^th May.

Every year Dying Matters host an Awareness Week, which they aim to give “an unparalleled opportunity to place the importance of talking about dying, death and bereavement firmly on the national agenda. This year, they ask What Can You Do?”

Skills for Care are supporting Dying Matters Awareness Week by helping to ensure the adult social care workforce has the right skills and knowledge to deliver the best quality care. 

They have a range of resources available to help and support those giving end of life care.

• Common core principles and competences – this guide outlines the key competences needed when working with adults at the end of their life.
• End of Life Core Skills Education and Training Framework – this framework considers the knowledge and skills that are core to providing good care in more detail.
• Working together to improve end of life care – a training pack developed to help increase awareness and understanding of how important it is to work together to support people at the end of their lives.
