Lee Cutler is the first member of the Cream Team to have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Everyone back at base was thrilled to hear the news that Lee has been fully vaccinated, it has made that glimmer of light at the end of the very long tunnel shine a bit brighter so we wanted to share the news with you all.
We spoke to Lee this morning and Laura asked him how he feels about the vaccination: “It has really affected me, I feel a lot more safe and it has given me reassurance. Everyone keeps asking me if it hurt or if I had any side effects and I honestly didn’t. It was just like having the flu jab, my arm was a little sore afterwards but that was it.”
Lee has been given a vaccination card which he has to carry with him at all times and it shows the date, type and the batch number of his vaccinations.
Lee had his first Pfizer/Biontech COVID vaccine on 18th December and his second jab on Friday - 8th January. It was the GP practice that made the decision to give Lee his second jab 21 days after his first jab. The current advice is that you will receive the second dose 3 to 12 weeks after your first dose and you will be advised when you will have your second dose when you have your first.
The vaccine will shortly be offered to you all as either Priority Group 1 – working in care homes for older adults or Priority Group 2 – frontline health and social care workers. The homes that you work at regularly will be inviting you in on the day the vaccines are being given.
You must be registered with a GP surgery in England to receive your vaccination so if you are not already then click here to find out how.
