Irene Pankiw – Care Worker – Stoke-On-Trent

Tuesday, August 7, 2018

This month, Joseph has been chatting to Cream Team member Irene, a Care Worker from Stoke-On-Trent.

Irene has only been working with us since the middle of June but it already feels as though she has been with us for much longer! Irene’s experience is exactly what we look for here at Cream and this has been reflected by the glowing feedback Irene has been receiving from the homes. Irene has even been working at some of our most challenging homes and has taken this all in her stride and has been rebooked directly by the homes. Even though Irene has only been with us for 2 months, we hope that she’ll be with us for years to come!

Joseph wanted to know why Irene chose a career in care and what she thinks about working for Cream Health Care.

What got you into care?

I’ve been working in care for the last 18 years and initially got into care because of my naturally caring nature. I had previously done 9 years in community care and then a further 9 years with learning disabilities. Due to my caring nature, I thought my skills would be suited to a role in care

What’s it like to work for Cream Health Care?

Enjoying it so far! I love the variety of the different homes and have had no issues at all with any help I need.

Do you feel like you are supported by the branch?

Definitely yes.

Do your hours suit you?

Oh yes definitely. I just load my availability on and then I get the shifts that suit my hours.

Do you have any specialities, passions or favourite care homes? Does Cream try to place you at care homes where they know you enjoy?

I’ve enjoyed all the homes I’ve been working at but my two favourites at the moment are Heathfield House and Allan House. I love being able to meet new people and improve their life in anyway and working for Cream allows me to do that!

Do you have a passion for care? Do you put dignity and respect at the heart of everything that you do? Do you have 6 months experience in care?

If you do, then please get in touch. You can call the branch on 01782 261552 or apply for a job through our jobs page.
