Rebecca Ash - Children's Support Worker - Brierley Hill

This month, Angela has been chatting to Rebecca Ash, a Children’s Support Worker, working with one of our clients in Brierley Hill. Rebecca has only recently joined the Cream Team so this month we wanted to chat with Rebecca to find out what it’s like to start working for Cream Health Care, how she found the interview and induction process and whether Rebecca feels supported by the team back at base.

Rebecca has been working in care for 7 years but has only been working for Cream Health Care for 2 weeks however she already made a great first impression! The feedback from the Children’s home that she is working at has been phenomenal. The manager can not sing Rebecca’s praises highly enough, the whole home loves her. The manager is really impressed by how proactive Rebecca is – a proper grafter who is always working above and beyond what is expected from her. Rebecca gets on really well with the Children she cares for and has even brought in additional activities to do with the Children.

We only recruit the very best care staff as we know our reputation is built on the quality of our team so our interview process and induction can be a little daunting for some as we really want to get to know our new team members and equip them with as much knowledge as we can so Angela asked Rebecca how she found the interview and induction process.

“The whole ‘process’ was really good. I was ideally looking for Day shifts in a Children’s home and this was discussed with me during the pre-screen so I felt even before the interview that the office team understood what I wanted. I was nervous for the interview but the time just flew by. The office staff communicated with me throughout so I knew where I was up to in the process and what I needed to do next. The induction was brilliant, really informative.”

Angela wanted to know how Rebecca has found the first couple of weeks working with us.

“The office staff have been fantastic - communication has been excellent. Whether I call, text or email someone always replies to her quickly. So far I have had no issues but I know that if something came up, the office staff would be approachable and I would feel comfortable to speak to them.”

“I was nervous for my first shift so left home 40 minutes early to make sure I wouldn’t be late.  I arrived 8 minutes later as I didn’t realise how close it was! The Staff at the service are lovely – there are a few staff that work at the service who have gone temp to perm from Cream and they helped show me the ropes. I really enjoyed my first shift and new it was the perfect placement for me.”

Finally, Angela was intrigued to know why Rebecca chose to work for Cream.

“I had been looking online and saw Cream’s reviews and after speaking to a previous employee I just knew Cream would be the right place for me.”
